Successes of the innovative IPU-16
Proven in the heat of competition, the IPU-16 has quickly earned accolades from top racing teams. The IPU-16's unique benefits are being recognised by teams who seek those small but crucial technical advantages in every area - and who win.
ALMSThe new Chevrolet Corvette C6.R is described by General Motors as "the most technically advanced sports car ever developed by GM". Both of Corvette Racing's cars are fitted with the IPU-16. In only their second American Le Mans Series event, at Road Atlanta, Georgia, in April, the Corvettes scored a 1-2 in the GT1 class, driver pairing Johnny O'Connell / Ron Fellows leading home team mates Olivier Beretta / Oliver Gavin. The Corvettes scored another 1-2 on their third ALMS outing at Mid-Ohio in May, then beat the Aston Martins to score another 1-2 in the punishing heat of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. |
LMESIn April's opening round of the Le Mans Endurance Series, the Spa 1000km in Belgium, the IPU-16 equipped Chamberlain-Synergy Lola of Bob Berridge / Gareth Evans / Peter Owen won the LMP2 class. |
Grand-AmThe IPU-16 equipped Howard-Boss Motorsports team won the six hour Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series race at Canada's Mont-Tremblant circuit in May, with drivers Andy Wallace / Jan Lammers / Milka Duno. The team also claimed second and third places in February's Daytona 24 Hours, and second place the following month (with drivers Elliott Forbes-Robinson and Butch Leitzinger) in the Grand Prix of Miami. |
